    • Ricky wins with a powerslam (Lambert off the top turnbuckle.)

    • Kash headbutts Jen.
    • Willie hits his top rope moonsault on Axxle then pins him.

Main show

  • Match #4 - Tournament Preliminary Match (3 Way Elimination)
  • Gary Jay vs. Pierre Abernathy vs. Evan Gelistico
    • Gary Jay hits an over the top rope tope con hilo on Evan Gelistico.
    • Abernathy eliminates Gary Jay.
    • Evan Gelistico uses his crossface variation to force Abernathy to submit.
  • Match #5 - Tournament Preliminary Match (3 Way Elimination)

    • Both ladies hit Vega with some stiff looking shots.
    • Rachel eliminates Athena with a Gory Bomb.
    • Vega pins Rachel to move on to semi-finals.
    • Postmatch, Athena beats on Rachel then dumps out a bag full of thumbtacks in the ring.  Somehow, Rachel ends up in a split on the tacks.  Then Athena climbs to the top rope and waits for Rachel to get up.  When Rachel finally stands Athena jumps off into a silla, driving Rachel again into the tacks.
  • Match #6 - Tournament Preliminary Match (3 Way Elimination)
  • Awesome Andy vs. Slim Sexy vs. Mat Fitchett
    • Slim Sexy pins Andy.
    • Fitchett pins Sexy following a shooting star press.
  • Match #7 - Tournament Preliminary Match (3 Way Elimination)
  • Delirious vs. Jimmy Jacobs vs. Matthew Palmer
    • In this match we are treated to the rare three way test of strength.
    • Delirious hits a tope to Palmer's chest as he (Palmer) comes flying in off the top rope.
    • Jacobs hits the Contra Code on Palmer then rolls back (and up) into the satellite headscissors on Delirious.  This was the first time I've seen Jacobs do that move live.
    • Jacobs locks the End Time on Delirious and he (Delirious) taps.
    • Palmer steals the victory with a roll up on Jacobs.
  • Match #8 - Twelve Man Tag Team Elimination Match
  • Darin Childs & Skylar Skelly & Khris Wolfe & Joey Figueroa & Sky Ryder & Jason Silver vs. ACH & Shawn Vexx & Berry Breeze & Chingo Smurf & Chris Conine & Jessica James
    • Rachel Summerlyn and Jeff the Ref (McLovin) accompany Jessica James to the ring.
    • This match was contested under the Skylar Skelly drinking match rules.  In this case that means that for every two count you must take a drink of your preferred alcoholic beverage.  Many in the audience (and several wrestlers in the match) participated in this.
    • This was a long match with lots of action.
    • Berry Breeze eliminates Skylar Skelly.
    • Sky Ryder then eliminates Berry Breeze.
    • Then Chris Conine comes in and eliminates Sky Ryder.
    • Darin Childs eliminates Chris Conine.
    • McLovin ends up in the fray and manages to single-handedly take out Bong Water (the referee) and the remaining Children of Pain.
    • Chingo Smurf takes out Joey Figueroa.
    • Darin Childs and Shawn Vexx eliminate each other.
    • Chingo eliminates Khris Wolfe.
    • By this time both ACH and Jessica James are a wee bit tipsy.
    • ACH does his best Drunken Master.
    • Jason Silver eliminates Chingo Smurf.
    • Silver then eliminates Jessica James.
    • Silver and ACH are the last two combatants.
    • ACH takes a trashcan bump.
    • Silver connects with a top rope tope atomico to win the match.
  • Match #9 - Tournament Semi-Final Match
  • Evan Gelistico vs. Davey Vega
    • Pierre Abernathy accompanies Evan to the ring, while Athena and Gary Jay accompany Vega.
    • I disagree with the audience members who were chanting "No one likes Athena!".  Personally, I like her and thought she looked great in her cheerleader uniform.
    • Vega hits a tope on Evan.
    • Vega hits Evan with a Discus Lariat followed by a frogsplash by Evan still manages to kick out.
    • Evan uses a piledriver on Vega then locks on his crossface to force Vega to tap.
    • Postmatch, the Submission Squad shares a group hug.
  • Match #10 - Tournament Semi-Finals Match
  • Matthew Palmer vs. Mat Fitchett
    • Palmer breaks out the old double arm stretch on Fitchett.
    • A dive spot into the audience seemingly goes wrong for both men as the referee signals the "X".  Both men are helped to the back.
    • But, quickly come back out fighting.
    • There are literally fireworks going on.
    • Palmer DDT's Fitchett on his head and the referee counts the three but Palmer notices Fitchett's foot was on the rope, so he demands a restart.
    • Palmer submits Fitchett with a headscissors / hammerlock combination.
  • Match # 11 - 4 Way Match for #1 Contender for ACH Heavyweight Title
  • Jimmy Jacobs vs. JT LaMotta vs. Masada vs. JC Bravo
    • This was originally supposed to be Just Willie vs. LaMotta vs. Masada vs. Bravo but Jacobs come out prematch and took out Just Willie.
    • Jacobs hits a tornillo pescado on LaMotta.
    • Masada hits a tope on LaMotta.
    • In an insane spot, Masada lifts JC Bravo up into a military press and throws him out of the ring into the (quickly evacuated) 2nd row of chairs.
    • As Masada is about to powerbomb Jacobs onto a pile of chairs, Jimmy manages to roll Masada up and steal the victory.
    • Postmatch, Jacobs declares he doesn't want a shot at Summers he wants a shot at Masada's Hardcore Title.  Masada accepts.
  • Match #12 - ACW Heavyweight Championship Match
  • Robert Evans vs. (c) Scot Summers
    • This is a great match with too much action to possibly describe.  Buy the DVD.
    • Summers hits Evans with a Curtain Call onto a chair.
    • Evans is all business in this match and it pays off as Robert Evans becomes the new ACW Heavyweight Champion.
  • Main Event - Tournament Final
  • Evan Gelistico vs. Matthew Palmer
    • This is another tremendous match which you should see for yourself.
    • Palmer hits a devastating spike headscissors on Evan to win the 2010 Lone Star Classic.
    • Postmatch, Palmer and Robert Evans make nice.

Results: TWE - Shepherd (11-13-2010)

Texas Wrestling Entertainment
November 13, 2010
Shepherd, TX - Shepherd Community Center

** Rudy Boy Gonzales (RBG) was the ring announcer.

  • Match #1 - Colt Smith vs. Rique Jackson
    • Jackson pulls out the victory with a rollup.
  • Match #2 - Galan Ramirez vs. Nick Guidry
    • These two went at it for a while.
    • Ramirez wins with a low blow and a rollup.
  • Match #3 - Intergender Match
  • Jen Alise vs. Rique Jackson
    • RBG decides this will be a ten minute match.
    • Since Jackson is a relatively small guy Jen makes with the power moves.  For the most part all well executed but that last suplex was scary looking.
    • Jen Alise has Douglas in an overhooked reverse double arm stretch then transitions from there into a camel clutch, working that hold for a while.  Jackson should've tapped there.  That would have been a better ending than the time limit draw.
  • Match #4 - TWE Television Title Match
  • Pat Tanaka vs. (c) Jacob Kilgore
    • Pat Tanaka seems to be everywhere now.
    • Tanaka uses the floating rib (Kilgore's) as a pressure point.
    • Colt Smith brings a chair for Tanaka to use.  Kilgore ends up with the chair so Tanaka does the fake out, pretending he took a chair shot.  The referee disqualifies Kilgore, Tanaka gets the win.  Too bad the title can't change hands on a dq.
  • Main Event - Special San Jacinto County $1000 Battle Royal
  • Colt Smith vs. Galan Ramirez vs. Nick Guidry vs. Rique Jackson vs. Jen Alise
    • Elimination is by being tossed over the top rope with both feet touching the ground.
    • I can honestly say I have never before seen so many flyswatter shots in a match before.
    • Colt Smith is eliminated first courtesy of a low bridge from Jen Alise.
    • Guidry is next, eliminated by Ramirez.
    • Ramirez is eliminated by Jackson.
    • Jen Alise tosses Jackson over the top rope and wins the Battle Royal.

Results: WOW - "Breakdown"

World Of Wrestling
Breakdown
November 12, 2010
Cypress, TX - VFW 8905

Pre-show
  • Match #1 - David Stahr vs. Jaykus Plisken
    • Stahr never really had a chance here as Plisken dominates most of the match.
  • Match #2 - El Pescado Amarillo vs. Hambone
    • Everytime Pescado manages to rudo up some offense, Hambone cuts him off.
    • This is ruled No Contest as Scot Summers enters the ring and takes out both men.

Main Show

  • Match #3 - NWA Junior Heavyweight Championship
  • ACH vs. (c) Jasper Davis
    • Good match for about 10 or so minutes until Davis decides he is going to keep his title by being counted out.
  • Match #4 - "Primetime" Ricky Douglas vs. The Clown
    • The Clown is Dusty Wolfe.  Apparently since WoW is NWA affiliated he can't go by Doink the Clown.
    • Douglas drops the Clown with a loaded punch but instead of covering, he (Douglas) decides to argue with the referee.  This allows the Clown time to recover and catch Douglas in a rollup for the win.
    • Postmatch, Douglas challenges the Clown to un lucha de apuestas.  The stakes are set.  Should the Clown win, Douglas has to go drag (dress and makeup), if Douglas wins, the Clown is out of wrestling (or at least the WoW.)
  • Match #5 - WoW Womens Championship Match
  • Barbi Hayden vs. (c) Jen Alise
    • The women are having a good little match when ring announcer Tony Brooklyn remembers to announce that this is a ten minute match and we are eight minutes in.  So two minutes later, we finish with a time limit draw.
    • Nice pull-apart action by the ladies postmatch.
  • Match #6 - Jaykus Plisken vs. Draven
    • Plisken gets the submission win after a good hard fought match.
  • Match #7 - #1 Contenders Match for WoW Heavyweight Championship
  • Pat Tanaka vs. Chaz Taylor
    • Pat Tanaka wastes no time in making with the heel tactics.
    • Tanaka is in control of the match when Chaz catches him with a superkick to take the win.
  • Match #8 - NWA Texas Tag Team Championship Match
  • Impeccable: Joey Figueroa & Ken Carson vs. (c) Pretty Flawless: Nobie Bryant & Jerome Daniels
    • Barbi Hayden accompanies Impeccable to the ring.
    • Flawless does a nice job of cutting off the ring and keeping Figueroa in trouble.
    • Impeccable makes liberal use of double teams to comeback.
    • The finish sees Flawless take out Figueroa with their double team move but he (Figueroa) is not the legal man.  Carson comes in and rolls up Daniels and Impeccable wins the NWA Texas Tag Team titles.
  • Main Event - WoW Heavyweight Championship Match
  • Mysterious Q vs. (c) Greg Symonds
    • Both men are fan favorites so this was a clean back and forth match.
    • Symonds hits a big uranage and gets the pin.
    • Postmatch, Scot Summers comes out and makes nice with Symonds briefly before attacking him.  The locker room empties out and everybody is fighting.  This is all a prelude to December's big Christmas Rumble show.

Upcoming - November 2010

This is a list of the shows I'm planning on attending this November.

November 12 - World of Wrestling in Cypress
WoW has titled this show "Breakdown".  The WoW website has two matches listed so far.  One is the WoW debut of the NWA Jr. Heavyweight Champion Kevin Douglas.  He will be defending his title against local Jasper Davis.  The second is another WoW debut, this one the NWA Tag Team Champions Pretty Flawless (Jerome Daniels and Nobie Bryant) defending their titles against the WoW Tag Team Champions Impeccable (Ken Carson and Joey Figueroa).
November 13 - Texas Wrestling Entertainment in Shepherd
Another promotion that seems to do very little internet promotion.  The website does mention Matt Bourne has been signed to appear and that Clifford Macias (bootmaker to the stars) will be honored at the event.
November 14 - Anarchy Championship Wrestling in Austin
This will ACW's 5th annual Lone Star Classic.  Entrants in the 12 wrestler tournament are Evan Gelistico, Slim Sexy, Athena, Delirious, Matthew Palmer, Jimmy Jacobs, Davey Vega, Rachel Summerlyn, Awesome Andy, Gary Jay, Pierre Abernathy, and a wrestler to be named later.  The tournament and other scheduled matches should add up to another top notch show.
November 20 - Independent Wrestling Entertainment in Houston
This will be a tag team tournament.
November 20 - New Breed Wrestling Xtreme in Crosby
Yes, two shows in one day, (IWE starts at 3pm. NBWX at 7:30).  Flyer posted at the NBWX website is promoting Doink (Dusty Wolfe I presume), and a return appearance by Pat Tanaka.
If anyone has any information about Texas pro wrestling events happening in November, on days other than the ones listed, please let me know.

    • Barbi's request is granted immediately.
