Christmas Carnage
December 10, 2010
Cypress, TX - VFW 8905

Pre-show

  • Match #1 - Rojo Grande vs. Hambone
    • Hambone wins with a heavyweight powerbomb.

Main Show

**Before the first match ACH and Jasper Davis come out to the ring.  After some jawjacking back and forth, it is decided that for tonight's matches only Davis will choose ACH's opponent and ACH will choose Jasper's opponent.

  • Match #2 - Career vs. Dress Match
  • "Primetime" Ricky Douglas vs. The Clown
    • This is a Career vs. Dress Match.  If Douglas wins The Clown has to retire from wrestling.  If The Clown wins Douglas has to wrestle future matches in drag.
    • Silky Baines accompanies Douglas to the ring.
    • I am reasonably certain that this was the first time I have ever heard a "Juggle our balls" chant.
    • Baines holds down The Clown's legs on a Douglas pin attempt thereby preventing the kick out.  Douglas wins the match.  That was genuinely a surprise, I don't think anyone expected Douglas to win.
    • As ring announcer Tony Brooklyn reminds the crowd of what was at stake here, the locker room empties out and the wrestlers surround the ring.
    • The Clown removes his mask.  It's Dusty Wolfe of course.
    • The wrestlers start a "Thank you Dusty!" chant.  It's unfortunate that the WoW crowd is predominately kids and their non-wrestling watching parents as they are unaware of Dusty Wolfe's legacy in professional wrestling.
  • Match #3 - ACH vs. Jaykus Plisken
    • Plisken is the opponent Jasper Davis picked for ACH.
    • Tony Brooklyn announces that this match has a 10 minute time limit so right there you know it is more than likely going to end in a draw.
    • ACH seems to be in trouble after jumping off the apron and landing on Plisken's shoulders but somehow manages to pull of the headscissors giving Jaykus a nice posting.
    • Low ceiling and all, ACH hits a 2nd rope 450 splash on Plisken.
    • As the time is being counted down, Plisken is trying to submit ACH but cannot make him tap.
    • The crowd chants for "Five more minutes".
    • As the last minute of the extra time is winding down, Plisken again is trying to submit ACH when for some reason the referee calls for the bell.  Brooklyn announces that the referee has declared this match "no contest".
    • Postmatch, ACH is helped to the back.  He appears to be favoring his wrist.
  • Match #4 - Jasper Davis vs. "Backdraft" Chris Lee
    • Why ACH would pick Chris Lee to face Davis is a mystery beyond all compare.
    • Davis wrestles with Lee for a few minutes and then takes a powder getting himself counted out.

  • Barbi Hayden vs. (c) Jen Alise

    • Jen Alise seems to have forgotten her manners as she is slapping, pulling hair, and even trying to strangle Barbi.
    • After Brooklyn announces "30 seconds left", Jen Alise counters a top rope sunset flip into a prawn hold.  Barbi is able to roll Jen back into a rana invertida and gets the three count.  Barbi Hayden is the new WoW Womens Champion.
  • Match #6- WoW Tag Team Championship Match
  • The Crusaders: PopN & Lock vs. (c) Impeccable: Joey Figueroa & Ken Carson

    • Carson hits a top rope Frankensteiner on Lock.
    • A minute or so later Carson jumps off the top rope for a dropkick and breaks the ceiling.
    • Joey hits a big powerslam on PopN for the win.  Impeccable retains the titles.
    • Postmatch, both teams make nice.
  • Match #7 - WoW Heavyweight Championship Match
  • Chaz Taylor vs. (c) "Solid Gold" Greg Symonds
    • Chaz looks very strong early.
    • Scot Summers comes to ringside carrying a metallic looking briefcase.
    • As Symonds has Chaz powered back into a corner the referee goes in between to force the break, allowing Summers to come up on the apron and nail Symonds in the head with the briefcase. Summers tosses the briefcase to a confused Chaz.  The referee sees Chaz with the case and calls for the bell.
    • Symonds retains on the DQ, Chaz chases Summers to the back.

    • Plisken eliminated via low bridge by Silky.
    • Hambone is eliminated by Scot Summers.
    • Only the two men who started the rumble remain, Silky Baines and Scot Summers.

Results: TWE - Shepherd (11-13-2010)

Texas Wrestling Entertainment
November 13, 2010
Shepherd, TX - Shepherd Community Center

** Rudy Boy Gonzales (RBG) was the ring announcer.

  • Match #1 - Colt Smith vs. Rique Jackson
    • Jackson pulls out the victory with a rollup.
  • Match #2 - Galan Ramirez vs. Nick Guidry
    • These two went at it for a while.
    • Ramirez wins with a low blow and a rollup.
  • Match #3 - Intergender Match
  • Jen Alise vs. Rique Jackson
    • RBG decides this will be a ten minute match.
    • Since Jackson is a relatively small guy Jen makes with the power moves.  For the most part all well executed but that last suplex was scary looking.
    • Jen Alise has Douglas in an overhooked reverse double arm stretch then transitions from there into a camel clutch, working that hold for a while.  Jackson should've tapped there.  That would have been a better ending than the time limit draw.
  • Match #4 - TWE Television Title Match
  • Pat Tanaka vs. (c) Jacob Kilgore
    • Pat Tanaka seems to be everywhere now.
    • Tanaka uses the floating rib (Kilgore's) as a pressure point.
    • Colt Smith brings a chair for Tanaka to use.  Kilgore ends up with the chair so Tanaka does the fake out, pretending he took a chair shot.  The referee disqualifies Kilgore, Tanaka gets the win.  Too bad the title can't change hands on a dq.
  • Main Event - Special San Jacinto County $1000 Battle Royal
  • Colt Smith vs. Galan Ramirez vs. Nick Guidry vs. Rique Jackson vs. Jen Alise
    • Elimination is by being tossed over the top rope with both feet touching the ground.
    • I can honestly say I have never before seen so many flyswatter shots in a match before.
    • Colt Smith is eliminated first courtesy of a low bridge from Jen Alise.
    • Guidry is next, eliminated by Ramirez.
    • Ramirez is eliminated by Jackson.
    • Jen Alise tosses Jackson over the top rope and wins the Battle Royal.

World Of Wrestling
Breakdown
November 12, 2010
Cypress, TX - VFW 8905

Pre-show
  • Match #1 - David Stahr vs. Jaykus Plisken
    • Stahr never really had a chance here as Plisken dominates most of the match.
  • Match #2 - El Pescado Amarillo vs. Hambone
    • Everytime Pescado manages to rudo up some offense, Hambone cuts him off.
    • This is ruled No Contest as Scot Summers enters the ring and takes out both men.

Main Show

  • Match #3 - NWA Junior Heavyweight Championship
  • ACH vs. (c) Jasper Davis
    • Good match for about 10 or so minutes until Davis decides he is going to keep his title by being counted out.
  • Match #4 - "Primetime" Ricky Douglas vs. The Clown
    • The Clown is Dusty Wolfe.  Apparently since WoW is NWA affiliated he can't go by Doink the Clown.
    • Douglas drops the Clown with a loaded punch but instead of covering, he (Douglas) decides to argue with the referee.  This allows the Clown time to recover and catch Douglas in a rollup for the win.
    • Postmatch, Douglas challenges the Clown to un lucha de apuestas.  The stakes are set.  Should the Clown win, Douglas has to go drag (dress and makeup), if Douglas wins, the Clown is out of wrestling (or at least the WoW.)
  • Match #5 - WoW Womens Championship Match
  • Barbi Hayden vs. (c) Jen Alise
    • The women are having a good little match when ring announcer Tony Brooklyn remembers to announce that this is a ten minute match and we are eight minutes in.  So two minutes later, we finish with a time limit draw.
    • Nice pull-apart action by the ladies postmatch.
  • Match #6 - Jaykus Plisken vs. Draven
    • Plisken gets the submission win after a good hard fought match.
  • Match #7 - #1 Contenders Match for WoW Heavyweight Championship
  • Pat Tanaka vs. Chaz Taylor
    • Pat Tanaka wastes no time in making with the heel tactics.
    • Tanaka is in control of the match when Chaz catches him with a superkick to take the win.
  • Match #8 - NWA Texas Tag Team Championship Match
  • Impeccable: Joey Figueroa & Ken Carson vs. (c) Pretty Flawless: Nobie Bryant & Jerome Daniels
    • Barbi Hayden accompanies Impeccable to the ring.
    • Flawless does a nice job of cutting off the ring and keeping Figueroa in trouble.
    • Impeccable makes liberal use of double teams to comeback.
    • The finish sees Flawless take out Figueroa with their double team move but he (Figueroa) is not the legal man.  Carson comes in and rolls up Daniels and Impeccable wins the NWA Texas Tag Team titles.
  • Main Event - WoW Heavyweight Championship Match
  • Mysterious Q vs. (c) Greg Symonds
    • Both men are fan favorites so this was a clean back and forth match.
    • Symonds hits a big uranage and gets the pin.
    • Postmatch, Scot Summers comes out and makes nice with Symonds briefly before attacking him.  The locker room empties out and everybody is fighting.  This is all a prelude to December's big Christmas Rumble show.

Upcoming - November 2010

This is a list of the shows I'm planning on attending this November.

November 12 - World of Wrestling in Cypress
WoW has titled this show "Breakdown".  The WoW website has two matches listed so far.  One is the WoW debut of the NWA Jr. Heavyweight Champion Kevin Douglas.  He will be defending his title against local Jasper Davis.  The second is another WoW debut, this one the NWA Tag Team Champions Pretty Flawless (Jerome Daniels and Nobie Bryant) defending their titles against the WoW Tag Team Champions Impeccable (Ken Carson and Joey Figueroa).
November 13 - Texas Wrestling Entertainment in Shepherd
Another promotion that seems to do very little internet promotion.  The website does mention Matt Bourne has been signed to appear and that Clifford Macias (bootmaker to the stars) will be honored at the event.
November 14 - Anarchy Championship Wrestling in Austin
This will ACW's 5th annual Lone Star Classic.  Entrants in the 12 wrestler tournament are Evan Gelistico, Slim Sexy, Athena, Delirious, Matthew Palmer, Jimmy Jacobs, Davey Vega, Rachel Summerlyn, Awesome Andy, Gary Jay, Pierre Abernathy, and a wrestler to be named later.  The tournament and other scheduled matches should add up to another top notch show.
November 20 - Independent Wrestling Entertainment in Houston
This will be a tag team tournament.
November 20 - New Breed Wrestling Xtreme in Crosby
Yes, two shows in one day, (IWE starts at 3pm. NBWX at 7:30).  Flyer posted at the NBWX website is promoting Doink (Dusty Wolfe I presume), and a return appearance by Pat Tanaka.
If anyone has any information about Texas pro wrestling events happening in November, on days other than the ones listed, please let me know.
